Rare Foods Australia Limited (RFA) owns and operates an Augusta Seafood Processing facility in which product is prepared and distributed. 

RFA’s core product is its pristine, green lip wild catch abalone, ranched for supply to customers all year round.  This unique, sustainable approach harnesses the natural currents and food sources of the ocean environment to grow a wild replica product, sought by world-renowned chefs.

Our strategy is to strengthen our core business and deliver shareholder returns through diversification into rare foods and products.  We have a disciplined framework to assess value accretive opportunities for growth.  We continue to consider potential product partners along with other prospects that leverage our ocean leases, processing facility, and sales and marketing channels.

Potential opportunities are at various stages of development including additional product supply chains, product trials, customer trials and shipments.

The Company’s head officed in Fremantle, we have our purpose-built facilities in Augusta, along with underwater ranch sites throughout the south coast of Western Australia.

Opportunity for an Aspirational Commerce-Orientated Person

We are seeking applications from self-motivated, reliable commerce-orientated people, who have a customer service mindset to support our Chief Financial Officer to build and develop an effective Commercial Services function. 

The role will refine and implement efficient systems to generate financial and business-related reporting, support our operational teams, provide Companywide procurement services and deliver Human Resource administration.

The core work of the role will be to:

  • Coordinate the implementation of the Risk Management system
  • Prepare accurate & timely financial reporting
  • Provide commentary and support to the operational team to monitor financial results;
  • Coordinate the completion of the bi-annual R&D tax incentive application
  • Coordinate and meet all recurring taxation and compliance obligations  
  • Identify, develop, implement, and continually improve systems and reporting outputs to support efficient operations and effective management decision making
  • Support our operations in the application of procurement and supply chain principles to optimize production activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve forecasting, purchasing and inventory management.
  • Maintain the company’s Human Resource systems and employee records;
  • Provide day-to-day commercial support to our Corporate and Operational teams.

This is a full-time role, with the opportunity to work remotely, or in our Fremantle or Augusta locations. The successful candidate may be required to travel to Augusta from time to time.

Selection Criteria

To be considered for the role, please provide evidence of the following about yourself:

  • CPA or CA Qualified
  • 3 years + commercial or public practice experience
  • Supply chain / procurement experience
  • Experience in cashflow management and periodic reporting delivery
  • High degree of competence in Microsoft Excel, MYOB & financial reporting process.
  • Previous experience working with international freight would be highly regarded.
  • Energetic, reliable, confident self-starter
  • Driven, commercially astute and innovative nature
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with client service delivery experience
  • Strong organisational/time management skills
