EOI: ADAS Commercial Aquaculture Divers
Rare Foods Australia (RFA) is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified Commercial Divers (ADAS Part II (restricted) or equivalent) to join our team. We have upcoming work to support operational activities on our ocean lease in Augusta, WA.
We are seeking dynamic, team-oriented and motivated individuals to assist with our diving operations.
We run a commercial scale abalone ranch and an underwater winery in the Southern Ocean, about 1.5km offshore of Augusta. Our products are submerged on our ocean lease year-round and rely on our dive team to support operations and meet production targets. Primary duties include abalone harvest, wine deployment/retrieval and underwater equipment maintenance. Secondary duties also include landside maintenance of equipment and ad-hoc support in the abalone processing factory.

Roles will require you to live in Augusta or another nearby regional centre (i.e. Margaret River), with the ability to travel to/from the Augusta marina each day for work. Regular hours of work are between 7am and 3pm, Monday to Friday. Some variation or overtime may be required to meet production schedules.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct dives to harvest greenlip abalone from our ocean lease and undertake asset maintenance activities
- Undertake basic technical duties, life support system maintenance and trouble shooting.
- Provide daily work reports
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure efficient delivery of product and tasks
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of diving processes and procedures
- Conduct dives to support ocean cellaring operations
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations.
Key Requirements:
- Valid ADAS Part II (or higher) Commercial Diving Qualification
- However we will also consider candidates who are part-way through Commercial Diver training, or highly motivated to complete training.
- Commercial Dive Medical (Per AS/NZ2299 standards)
- First Aid & CPR Certificate (including Apply Advanced Resuscitation)
- At least 18 years old
- A valid driver’s licence
- Strong safety record and a team player
- Good physical condition and strong swimming ability to meet demands of work in different environments and conditions
- Desirable: Coxswain, Deckhand, Forklift, Truck licence, experience working with marine life, salt-water experience.
