Processing Staff
Become an integral member of our Processing team, supporting production and product quality assurance for our premium product range.

We are seeking an individual to join our factory team in Augusta to provide core operations support for our business in on floor product processing, data entry and product quality assurance (QA) and process improvement. We have a current Full Time or Casual Role available to join our team for immediate start.
The Successful candidate can grow their skills and experience in the agribusiness industry, supporting our team to meet production goals. Our ideal team member will have prior processing and QA experience alongside computer skills for data entry and management.
Employment arrangements will be commensurate with skills and experience. The role offers full time hours and the opportunity to live and work in South-West WA. Temporary accommodation can also be provided for the right candidate.

Rare Foods Australia (RFA) was founded on its innovative approach to sustainably produce highly sought-after wild-caught greenlip abalone off the pristine coast of Western Australia.
Our wild-enhanced fishery has earned the coveted Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification and our harvest from this globally unique fishery carries MSC’s blue tick – an internationally recognised symbol of sustainability..
Where We Are Headed
RFA manages the growth and production of wild-caught greenlip abalone on our ocean lease in Augusta. The business also integrates other local wild-caught products including brownlip and roei abalone.
Leveraging off its strengths and innovative spirit, the business is among the first in Australia to have completed trials of ocean-cellared wine, in collaboration with award-winning wineries from the local Margaret River region.
Having conducted several successful trials RFA is now planning to scale ocean-cellared products and integrate these exciting products as part of the business’s unique offerings.
Your Role in the Team
Reporting to the Processing Manager, the Seafood processing team is required to complete the work to deliver the fortnightly processing plan to the required safety, productivity and quality standards. You will also assist the other processing workers with the plant and equipment maintenance as well as provide insights into continuous improvement of our ways of working and processing product workflow efficiencies.
The successful candidate will undertake the daily processing operations with the opportunity to expand and enhance Safe work practices, Seafood processing and packaging skills, Preventative maintenance routines and Product development approaches.
Accountabilities
- Practise safe work and participate in safety awareness.
- Participate, provide insight and support the implementation of the fortnightly Processing plan.
- Conduct as agreed all processing tasks to the required standard (including sorting/grading/shucking abalone, boxing orders, facility cleaning).
- Participate in identifying systems improvement
- Undertake plant and equipment maintenance
Growing avenues of work may include:
- Computer based data entry and record keeping
- Preparing wines for and after ocean cellaring
- Developing new product lines

Skills & Experience
We are seeking applications from candidates who have:
- Undertaken previous employment in the agriculture or food processing industries would be highly regarded
- Prior experience in product quality assurance
- Computer skills and experience in data entry
- Excellent communication skills
- Can read and follow instructions
- A desire to learn and work efficiently
- Enjoy working as part of a team.
- Are physically fit and healthy and would pass a fit for work medical.
- Hold a current WA Driver’s Licence.
Highly desirable:
- Forklift licence
