Processing Staff

Seeking a reliable, friendly individual to support manual packing and production tasks in our processing factory.

Rare Foods Australia is seeking a reliable and hard-working individual to join our processing team. Located at our Augusta factory, we are seeking a hands-on worker to support our daily work schedule. Key tasks include processing and packing seafood, cold storage and handling and general facility upkeep.

The core processing role involves abalone shucking, manual handling of stock for packing and storage and general cleaning of the facility and tanks. We are seeking a friendly, positive individual who is happy to complete daily tasks as part of a growing team.

We have a current Casual Role available for immediate start. This may progress to a Full-Time opportunity for the right candidate. Our factory operates a nominal schedule of 7am to 3pm Monday to Friday with occasional varied hours or weekend work required to meet delivery schedules.

The role offers full-time hours and the opportunity to live and work in South-West WA. Candidates must be able to get themselves to and from work at the Augusta Boat Harbour on a daily basis.

Rare Foods Australia (RFA) was founded on its innovative approach to sustainably produce highly sought-after wild-caught greenlip abalone off the pristine coast of Western Australia.

Our wild-enhanced fishery has earned the coveted Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification and our harvest from this globally unique fishery carries MSC’s blue tick – an internationally recognised symbol of sustainability.

Your Role in the Team

We have a dedicated team of three to four processing workers. The team works collectively to deliver the required work schedule under the guidance of the Processing Manager. Safety and supporting a safe work culture is an important part of the role.

The processing team is also periodically supported by our operating dive team if/as required to meet the production needs.

Skills & Experience

We are seeking applications from candidates who have:

  • Undertaken previous employment in the agriculture or food processing industries would be highly regarded
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Can read and follow instructions
  • A desire to learn and work efficiently 
  • Enjoy working as part of a small team.
  • Are physically fit and healthy and would pass a fit for work medical.
  • Hold a current WA Driver’s Licence.

Highly desirable:

  • Forklift licence
